About Our Founder
Allie Spector, the visionary behind TeachersTurnedTutors, is a passionate educator who embarked on a transformative journey to redefine personalized learning. With a profound belief in the power of individualized instruction, she founded TeachersTurnedTutors in 2022, driven by a mission to provide students with the dedicated attention they truly deserve.
Allie earned her Bachelor of Science degree and Teaching Credential from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she gained a solid foundation in educational theory and practice. Equipped with her academic qualifications, she embarked on a nine-year career as an elementary school teacher, working with students across various grade levels, including first, fourth, and fifth grade.
Throughout her teaching career, Allie experienced firsthand the challenges posed by high class sizes and the difficulty of meeting the diverse needs of each student. This frustration fueled her determination to find a solution that would enable each student to receive the personalized attention he or she required.
Determined to make a lasting impact, Allie set out to create an innovative solution that would revolutionize the learning experience for students. She envisioned a platform that would connect students with qualified teachers, enabling them to receive personalized instruction tailored to their unique learning styles and goals.
